Painting

Good Painting Practices

Getting ready

* clean your space for paining , dont crowd

* get everything youll need

* brushes, paint, water paper, paper towels

Paint

* never get more than you think youll need. you can always get more. waste is bad for everyone

* a quarters worth is a good amount

* find some scrap to mix colors on

Water

* barely cover the bottom of the container WHY?

* well, if you spill theres not much to clean up

* youre not going to accidentally use to much on your painting, especially using watercolor

* youre not wasting water

Brushes

*use the brush for the job

*small brushes are for details at the end

* big brushes are usually for large areas unless- there is the need for texture or marking of some type

* always clean your brush

* always make sure your brush has been cleaned before you use it

Painting

* painting is or can be messy, mind your space and manners

* dont play or get sloopy

* IF you MESS UP---WAIT FOR IT TO DRY AND PAINTOVER IT

* sometimes painting over something requires that you paint an opaque color such as white first.

* always lay flat to dry ( I want you to place your painting on top of your folder then lay your folder on the drying rack

Good Painting Practices

* respect your work and others work. meaning NEVER paint or mark or touch another persons painting!!!

NEVER put a wet piece on top of another wet piece

Finishing up

* listen for instructions

* dont crowd the sink

* one person per job, dump water, clean brushes, put away paint,

* put painting away first or as told WHEN TO DO SO!!!
