Davis is a geometric abstractionist. He uses line shape color and form to make this illusionist paintings. They seem to float in some undefined space. His color seems to be random. It is dropped, dripped and poured and sometimes brushed on. The choices are both random and complementary. The tints and shades are from differing sources. For a time he worked in fiberglass but it nearly killed him. After getting well he started using more traditional media such as oil and acrylic. Drawings are done in ink, pencil, and watercolor.
